Dr. Christopher Landon

When Dr. Landon founded LPF in 1992, he set out to improve the lives of children and their families in Ventura County and beyond.

Dr. Christopher Landon has been the Director of Pediatrics at Ventura County Medical Center since 1989. Although it has taken longer than he planned, this has allowed the building of the Pediatric Diagnostic Center to serve the pediatric subspecialty care needs of the Central Coast including CCS Specialty Care Centers in Endocrinology, Neurology, Ophthalmology, Cleft Lip and Palate, and Gastroenterology. He has been involved in telemedicine for as long, building out the first Blue Cross Telemedicine project. The Landon Pediatric Foundation (LPF) built out the first pediatric hospitalist service, Pediatric Intensive Care Unit, state funding to rebuild the Pediatric Unit, and a Ronald McDonald Family Living Center. Working with the community LPF has built camps, Moms and Kids Drug Recovery Centers, established early developmental screening, literacy, and education. Working with Dr. Paul Russell, Dr. Landon established Healthy Families Ventura over two and a half decades ago. The Family Justice Center, our partners in ACEs is key to its sustainability. After “retiring” from the role of director of the Pediatric Diagnostic Center in 2017, Dr. Landon has been able to return to clinical innovation with medical devices with current projects in ventilators, airway clearance, noninvasive pulmonary function testing, advanced mask protection, medication adherence, etc. TV and podcast production has continued through GetMovingTV on YouTube. Through Landon Pediatric Foundation, Dr. Landon continues to pursue Global Health with partners in Africa, Latin America and Australasia.

Dr. Landon enjoys off-road bicycling and practices self-care by painting, gardening, raising bees, butterflies and chickens, cooking, laughter yoga, motorcycles, music, writing, and communicating with friends.
